MMS HSA News - Week of March 22  MAPLEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION Social Work Month 2021 March is Social Work Month, a time to celebrate the great profession of social work. The theme for 2021 is Social Workers Are Essential. Social workers are trained to help people address personal and systemic barriers to optimal living. They are employed to effect positive change with individuals, families, groups and entire communities. During Social Work Month, take time to learn more about the many positive contributions of the profession, and to celebrate all the social workers you know. School Social Workers light the way, emphasizing the whole child, collaborating with other professionals, linking students and families with needed services, and advocating for our profession. Ready for Some New Books? Right after spring break, April 5 - April 18, MMS will be collaborating on a Virtual Book Fair with Words Bookstore! MMS HSA will receive 10 percent of all sales from a specially curated selection of books for middle schoolers. An amazing way to support your local bookseller and MMS at the same time, while also getting some new books for spring reading. More details and booklist link to come soon! 7th Grade Trivia Returns After a long break, TriviaHub returns on April 9th to the seventh grade for our final round.
