Traffic Flow & Battle of the Classes!!
We are sure you heard this message already, but the holidays can be so hectic, please remember tomorrow starts the new traffic pattern at MMS. The details are in Principal Gronau’s weekly message and shown in a graphic here (courtesy of MMS community member Jamaine Cripe, via FB post). We know everyone will agree, the safety of our children is well worth the rerouting. As we gear up to the holiday break, this week is sure to be fun for the students! It is Battle of the Classes, the MMS version of Spirit Week. Please encourage your students to participate, and to also look for the ways to give back to the community at the same time. A quick thank you to Maureen Griffis and Gabrielle Graziano, who chaired the Staff & Faculty Holiday Luncheon, it was a wonderful celebration.
Please take a moment to read through this email. We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday break. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us!!

Kids love the Battle each year and a great way to capture their enthusiasm is with a Battle of the Classes grade level t-shirt. This year the students worked directly on the design! The HSA will be selling shirts during the lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The shirts are $12 and not only feed the fun of the Battle of the Classes, but raise money for the HSA! It's a win-win! Quantities are limited so send your student to school with $12 cash or a check payable to MMS-HSA. Want to get in on the fun too? Volunteer to help sell the shirts! Click here to access the sign up genius for the shirt sales!
More ways to Battle
In addition to the food drive and box tops, Student Council and the Social Work team are partnering to bring gifts to some local families! Student Council delivered boxes to each team leader's room. Each team leader received a note-card with the focus for gifts requests and the age of the recipients. See the note cards for Gift Requests HERE. If you have any questions please reach out to Ms. O'Sullivan or the social work interns. Gifts Due December 20!
Thanks for helping our community enjoy the holidays! -MMS Student Council

FUNDRAISING
Trivia Night
SAVE THE DATE! Please mark your calendars and plan to join in the fun for our biggest fundraiser of the year! February 2, 2018 at The Woodland. Come and show off your knowledge of pointless useless information. There will be fabulous food and you are welcome to bring whatever your drink of choice will be for the evening. Keep your eyes peeled for when ticket sales begin. Tickets always go fast, the Woodland has limited capacity and you don't want to be left out in the cold. Question: What is celebrated on February 2nd and has been since 1887? Please don't be fooled...the questions for Trivia Night are always much more challenging than this one.
